We have a number of fixed term vacancies for Solicitors within our Legal Services department of Halton Borough Council within its Social Care legal team.
Solicitor - £51,428 - £54,420 this in includes a £7k Market Supplement - Fixed term for 12 months
About the role
Halton Borough Council have exciting opportunities for ambitious Solicitor's to join its in-house legal team providing high quality, timely and business focused legal advice to its social care and safeguarding teams to enable the proper and effective discharge of its many services. The post offers a full and varied personal caseload including advice, support and representation across all areas of children’s social care and children’s safeguarding, including, where necessary advocacy in courts, tribunals and inquiries on behalf of the Council.
The role offers the right candidate the chance to make a real difference to the lives of children and vulnerable people whilst working in a very wide and varies area and continuing to develop skills and experience in a multitude of legal areas

About you
You will have previous experience of working in local government or in private practice and will have qualified as a solicitor. We are looking for a highly organised person and possess excellent IT and communication skills, with an ability to work flexibly as part of the team and also individually.
Do you have knowledge of a wide range of areas as identified in the job profile associated with the post . Are you an effective and concise communicator who can demonstrate experience and understanding of the need for political sensitivity & awareness? Are you capable of achieving targets and deadlines by managing your own workload and adapting to any unforeseen and urgent demands when necessary.
